There is some speculation again going on out there and those of you that enjoy reading the FCC files believe that the FCC ID NM899110 which is an HTC phone with just one number greater than the Google Nexus One and will be available for AT&T.

The phone which is currently un named can use 3G on WCDMA bands I, II and V and this will work on Rogers, Bell, Telus AT&T of course and most of Europe.

Therefore the next Nexus One could well be considered as a world phone for travellers. From the start the Google Nexus One received extremely great feedback then of course came those erm shall we say issues.

Great news though as HTC does offer live US staffed technical support. There have also been reports recently that voice transcriptions on the Nexus One removes swearwords. Although the web banner advertisements claim that the Nexus One has sentience. Source – wirelessandmobilenews.com

Apple must have really something against Adobe Flash, as most iPhone users know; the iPhone doesn’t use Adobe Flash for one reason or another despite many iPhone users wanting Flash on the iPhone.

Well Apple has unveiled their iPad, and guess what, just like the iPhone it doesn’t do Adobe Flash either reports an article over on itproportal which states that Adobe has slammed Apple over the omission of Flash in the iPad.

Now the iPad is supposed to be for surfing the web I would think and if it doesn’t support Flash then it takes something of the full surfing experience away from the user, much like Apple does on the iPhone.

So it seems Apple has not only slapped the face of Adobe yet again, but also intends to keep their iPad users as well as iPhone users deprived of using Flash. Get used to it iPad-ers and welcome to the realms of the Flash-less iPhone world.

Great news for smartphone users everywhere as an announcement that Azzurri Communications are partnering with 02 and this will ensure better support for smartphone users.

This move will provide better support for iPhone, BlackBerry and Palm Pre users. Azzurri will manage a base of 02 customers and thy will aim to focus its mobile operations almost solely on 02. Even giving some other direct network relationships in the process.

02 business sales director Ben Dowd claims that the network operator will continue to move away from being seen just as a mobile brand to a leading connectivity service brand. The question is though can 02 offer the services to back up this claim.

The chief executive officer for Azzurri Communications Gordon Matthew seems to think so. 02’s network coverage, product strategy, and vision are the most compelling of all the UK mobile operators and will continue to be for the foreseeable future. Gordon also believes that they will be working with a winning team. Lets hope so.

Here is a quick question for you “Could new iPhone 4G get the Apple iPad A4 chip?” or something similar. This is all down to if Apple releases the fourth generation iPhone first; there is no need to doubt they will not.

At the moment the iPhone 3GS has the ARM Cortex A8 CPUs and PowerVR SGX GPUs chips from Samsung, but today after the announcement of the all new iPad Apple has its very own chip called the A4.

Apple has always wanted its very own custom chip since they bought PA Semi (Palo Alto Semiconductor) and these chips will be used in all future products according to TiPB. It would be good though to use the Apple A4 or something similar for the next-gen iPhone.

What do you think, could new iPhone 4G get the Apple iPad A4 chip or something similar? Please vote below and let us know what you think.

Remember the patent battle between Nokia and Apple and Nokia went crying to the US International Trade Commission asking for them to investigate Apple? Well it looks like the battle is about to get bitter.

According to an article over on pcworld, the ITC has decided there is a case to grant Nokia’s request and is now investigating Apple over the alleged infringement of seven Nokia patents in virtually all Apple phones, which basically means the iPhone.

In a counter move against Nokia, Apple retaliated by lodging their own complaint with the US International Trade Commission, although at this time it appears that the ITC hasn’t yet granted Apple’s request.

The word is there is a timescale of 45 days for the ITC to bring the investigation to completion and once completed, 6 ITC law judges will make an initial decision on the case which will then be subject to a full commission review.

The Google Nexus One smartphone was released earlier this month but not without its 3G problems on the T-Mobile network, many complaints have come in but rest assured there is a fix coming soon.

Nexus One users have been reporting problems about 3G connections and indeed the lack of 3G connection on the device, Google and T-Mobile has said they are aware of this problem and was looking into it but hopefully the new fix will sort this issue out.

The main problem was down to a software error, this error was found in the smartphone’s 3G radio, which means there is not hardware problems, so a quick software fix will do the job. 3G speeds are pretty slow and this could be down to the T-Mobile small 3G footprint according to Mobile Guerilla.

As soon as Google has released the software update we will let you know, in the meantime if you have any complaints please let us know in the comments area below.

The Nokia N900 is a powerful smartphone in Nokia’s portfolio, and today we have a video of the Nokia N900 which runs the Maemo 5 operating system with a ported Android operating system making the Nokia N900 a dual-boot system.

The Nokia N900 hack video comes courtesy of the guys over at jkontherun, and lasts almost two and a half minutes and shows us the Nokia N900 booting up in both Maemo 5 and Android OS, although there’s no commentary attached.

Apparently the guys done the dual boot as a proof of concept, but if you fancy having Maemo 5 and Android at least you now know it can be accomplished.

Anyway enough from me, I’ll let you crack on to that Nokia N900 dual boot video which can be viewed below and soak up the enjoyment.

This is the third model in the Samsung Genio range and the Samsung Genio B5310 has been given a name change to the Samsung Genio slide for the exclusive launch on Vodafone.

So, otherwise known as the Samsung Genio Pro, Vodafone have secured the exclusive release for the B5310, or the Genio Pro or the Genio Slide? The network decided to rebrand this latest QWERTY, touchscreen phone after winning the rights exclusively to launch under the new model name of Genio Slide.

It isn’t that unusual for networks to suddenly adopt a name change an example recently was T-Mobile and the new Samsung Galaxy Spica, the model number remains as the i5700 the same as the Genio Slide being the B5310, T-mobile re launched as the Samsung Galaxy Portal.

Surely this just adds to the confusion surrounding the mobile phone industry, potential customers are overloaded with loads of deals to choose from so why complicate matters further by changing the names of handsets right before they launch? Source -bignews.biz

It has been predicted by analysts that Microsoft will be launching their own Self Brand phone within a couple of months.

This will turn the very long rumoured Project Pink into reality. It is expected that the self owned brand mobile will probably turn up at Barcelona in February or at CTIA in Las Vegas.

It would seem that Microsoft has been cooperating with some cell phone manufactures in order to develop one type of phone said to be similar to Zune. The phone will come with high definition video playing function and will be equipped with a minimum of a 5 megapixel camera.

Its also predicted that the self brand will be based in Windows Mobile 7 operating system. So in a nut shell it would seem that Microsoft will be releasing its very own self brand phone together with Windows Mobile 7. Source – bignews.biz

Apparently business customers have been very patient and have waited for the iPhone to come to Vodafone before they have signed up for the Apple handset.

The iPhone became available on Vodafone just a few days ago on the 14th January joining together with Orange, Tesco Mobile, and 02, they have already sold over 100.000 handsets.

Vodafone seems to be pushing more towards the business market than its rivals though, despite experts regarding the iPhone as just a consumer device. Customers are very happy with the iPhone as they can do new and different things.

There are other devices out there that are great for email but mainly because of its user interface the iPhone is now starting to bridge that gap between the smartphone and of course the netbook. Source – v3.co.uk

With one of the largest advertising programs in the online world, and also being the largest search company in the world. Google is about to deliver its Q4 2009 earnings this week.

The results are expected to be better than the Wall Street estimates. The expected revenues are said to be in the region of 13 to 15% higher than the $4.38 billion Google reported in the third quarter.

Despite rumors of higher than expected earnings some analysts feel that the long ongoing fight which is going on between the Chinese Government will cast a cloud over Google’s finances.

The fight between the Chinese government has been going on since the middle of December and Google has hinted that they may well consider leaving the Chinese market and drop censoring search results within the country. Source – dailytech.com

The word is that Apple is in negotiations with Microsoft with a view to replacing Google on the iPhone will Microsoft’s Bing according to two people familiar with the situation reports an article over on business week.

Apparently the sources state that Apple and Microsoft have been in talks for several weeks. Although Apple and Google have worked well in the past, perhaps Google leap into supplying smartphones such as the Nexus One has cause Apple to become concerned.

The Nexus One is a direct rival to the iPhone after all, and as usual neither Apple nor Microsoft is offering any comment on the rumour.

Although apparently if the iPhone swaps Google for Bing, the iPhone will still use Google services such as Google Maps, Gmail, GTalk and the like, so the iPhone won’t be completely dumping Google.
